CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) It was a lot of work for Alan Komrosky and his crew to take apart and reassemble “Bob the Triceratops” inside the Barnes County Museum.
Komrosky says “Bob” was excavated in 2003 on the Craig & Bobbie Egeland Elk Ranch in Bowman County, North Dakota by Komrosky and the Hell Creek Relics.
Bob is from the Cretaceous period in the Hell Creek formation of western North Dakota dating back 65-million years ago. Bob’s skull measures seven feet, two inches from the back of the frill to the tip of the rostrum.
The curator of the museum Wes Anderson is encouraging the public to visit the museum as soon as you can before the fossil is sold and has to leave the building. For more information about the Barnes County Museum call Wes Anderson at 845-0966.
