N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota motor vehicle license plates will be getting an update this year.

According to the North Dakota Department of Transportation, the new general issue plate will replace the original plates that have been in circulation for 22 years. The new design features an actual photograph of a sunrise in the North Dakota skyline and a buffalo. The plate will also be adorned with wheat.

The plate will feature the North Dakota tourism slogan “Legendary”, and will also have North Dakota’s official state nickname “Peace Garden State.”
