CITY, N.D (NewsDakota.com) Both Valley City Legion and Babe Ruth baseball teams picked up roads wins on Tuesday night. The legion team defeated Casselton 9-6, while the Babe Ruth squad picked up a couple of victories over LaMoure by scores of 12-5 and 13-2.

Legion:

Valley City Post 60 9 vs Casselton 6

Led by Dalton Ondracek who drove in three runs, Valley City earned their second win of the Legion season .

While Jesse Johnson started the game for Post 60, it was the VCSU commit, Austin Berg, who earned the win in two relief innings.

Valley started the scoring in the third inning with two RBIs from Johnson and Ben Baasch. However, That lead would fizzle out quickly when Casselton answered with a two run inning of their own in the bottom of the frame.

The two teams would battle back and forth until the sixth inning when Chase Carpender secured the victory for Valley with a two run home run giving Post 60 their second win in 9 game. 

Babe Ruth:

Valley City 12 vs LaMoure 5

On the road in LaMoure the Valley City Babe Ruth squad would pick up yet another win with an offensive display of excellence.

Led at the plate by Nate Rodrigues and Matt Brandvold, VC would finish the game with 12 runs on 11 hits.

The scoring started early for Valley as they jumped out to a quick lead with three runs in the first. They would go on to light the score board in six of the seven inning played, leaving no doubt as to who would earn the win in the game.

Cole McGough Picked up the win on the mound in relief. Through five innings he gave up just two runs, one hit, and struck out five batters.

Valley City 13 vs. LaMoure 2

In the second game, it was once again the offense of the visiting team that gave LaMoure a head ache. This time Devin Anderson led Valley city at the plate picking up two hits in the game. Thomsen and Dawson Dietrich each scored triples in the contest.

On the mound, Tanner Thomsen picked up the win in four innings. He allowed LaMoure just two runs on two hits, and despite walkng 12 batters he kept his cool sitting down four on strike outs.

The sweep of LaMoure gives VC an overall record of 15-5 on the season. They remain undefeated in district play with a record of 7-0. Valley City returns to the diamond on Wednesday when they take on Napoleon on the road at 5pm
