Greer, 80, of Mission, TX and Montpelier, ND, passed away peacefully to be with Jesus on January 3, 2014 at Mission Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mission, where he had been a resident since suffering a stroke on August 3, 2014.

Harold DuWayne was born on October 14, 1933 on the family farm in Dickey, ND. He was the oldest of seven children born to Alton and Lenora (Bender) Greer. Harold attended school in Dickey, ND. On May 16, 1953 he was united in marriage to DeLoras Dally, and together they raised five children.

Harold worked on a farm for two years before starting a career at Spiritwood, Prosper and Harwood, ND elevators. In June of 1976 Harold and DeLoras purchased Pink Cabins on Cotton Lake, Rochert, MN, and ran the resort until May of 1989. They later moved to Lake Park, MN, where Harold trucked for several Companies. Once retired, Harold and DeLoras moved to various spots in Texas before settling in Mission.

Harold is survived by his wife of 60 years, DeLoras; sons, DuWayne (Hye Boon) Greer, Woodbridge, VA, Aaron (Judy) Greer, West Fargo, ND, Bryce (Cyndi) Greer, Verndale, MN; and daughter, Becky (Dale) Renner, Detroit Lakes, MN. He is also survived by brothers, Howard (Jane) Greer, North Dartmouth, MA and Ralph (Rita) Greer, Marion, ND; sisters, Marge Dailey-Salberg, West Bend, WI, Delores (Larry) Schiebe, Fayetteville, NC and Rachel (Bill) Schultz, Moorhead, MN; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Caroline, and son, Tracy Joel in 1978.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Dickey, ND, with lunch following at town hall in Dickey. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Moorhead, MN at 4:30 p.m. on June 28th. An online guestbook may be signed at www.dahlstromfuneralhome.com
