N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council held an organizational session following the final meeting of their last term on June 24th. Both Mayor Katie Andersen and Councilman Ramone Gumke took their oath for the new term.

Ken Dalsted was appointed to serve as City Attourney and Assistant City Prosecutors for a two year term. Members of Dalsted’s law firm were selected as assistant city prosecutors and attorneys for two year terms that will expire in June 2016. Katie Andersen was appointed to the JSDC Board for a two year term.

Mayor Andersen reappointed Councilman Dan Buchanan to serve as the council’s representative on the Stutsman County Zoning Board for a four year term. She also stated that the council needed as much exposure in different aspects of the city as possible, so committee chairs were resigned.

Councilman Steve Brubakken was selected to be on the Finance & Legal Committee and Personnel Committee. Mayor Katie Anderson will serve the Building, Planning & Zoning Committee. Councilman Dan Buchanan will serve the Civic Center & Promotion Committee. Charlie Kourajian will serve the Police & Fire Committee. Ramone Gumke will serve the Public Works Committee.
