(NewsDakota.com After losing their first game in the 2014 season the previous night against Southeast Regional opposition, the LaMoure Post 19 American Legion baseball team picked up two wins at home against Lidgerwood Post 84 Thursday night.
LaMoure won the first game 10-0 in four and a half innings, and the second game in six innings by the score of 11-1.
In the first game, Jared Meiklejohn allowed only three hits, and no Lidgerwood player made it to second base. Anthony Olson had a triple, single and two runs scored, while Roddy Gentzkow registered a triple and scored two runs. Only two batters in the lineup for Post 19 did not score in the first game.
The second game saw Gentzkow go all six innings, allowing five hits while striking out 10. Meiklejohn, Cade Gentkow and Brady Warcken each drove in two runs.
Post 19 is now 6-1 in Southeast Region play. LaMoure plays in a tournament in Moorhead Minnesota this weekend, before returning to Southeast Region play on Monday at Oakes versus Post 36. Coverage Monday can be heard on Q101.1FM, KDDR-AM 1220 and NewsDakota.com
