(NewsDakota.com) – After getting demolished on Monday night in the opener at West Fargo, the West All-Star rallied back to split the series with a 3-1 win. The match, which was played at Bismarck Century, featured a lineup of the top graduated seniors from across the state. Jamestown’s Addie Eamon, Josie Hegerle and McKayla Orr all played for the West, while Sara Hegerle coached the squad.
The East lead by Central Cass’ Faith Dooley and Carrington’s Madison Wendel won the first of the two matches on Monday night in straight sets and it was never really very close.
Last night in Bismarck, the West came out with a chip on their shoulder and won the contest 3-1 (25-20, 16-25, 26-24, 25-23). The third set win was probably the most impressive, with the East leading 23-19, the West stormed back to win the set in thrilling fashion.
Hegerle would get the final kill of the fourth set off a tip to seal the win. It was the final time that Jamestown’s all-state trio would take the floor together and they certainly made the most of it. The trio were all among the top-four vote-getters in the all-state voting and lead Jamestown to the school’s first-ever state volleyball championship.
