CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Police are searching for the driver of a 2004 Jeep Liberty who crashed his vehicle into a tree in the 500 block of 2nd street southwest around 2:45am Saturday morning in Valley City.

Police Chief Fred Thompson says the driver apparently exited the vehicle while it was still in motion and ran off in an unknown direction.

The driver faces a number of charges including fleeing in a motor vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Valley City police department at 845-3110.
