N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A senior at Page Public School was recently named as a Samsung American Legion Scholarship National Finalist.
Ethan Johnson, the son of Randy and Melody, was selected by the North Dakota Boys State held in Wahpeton, North Dakota. He was selected by officials on the basis of academics, school, community involvement, and financial need. Johnson joins 99 other National Finalists around the United States competing for one of twelve $20,000 scholarships.
The Samsung American Legion Scholarship received funds from a $5 million grant from Samsung. The grant was created in recognition of the sacrifice and commitment of United States servicemen and women who served during the Korean War to maintain the security of the Korean Peninsula. Samsung joined with The American Legion to offer an educational opportunity to the descendants of war-time veterans who have served honorably.
Ethan is the grandson of Miles Holden, Sr., who served during the Korean War.
