(NewsDakota.com) The Enderlin Post 221 American Legion baseball team earned their first victory in Southeast Region play on Thursday evening, holding on for a 6-3 victory against Oakes Post 36 at Cummings Field.

Post 221 (1-1 Southeast Region) scored the first four runs of the game in the opening five innings, while Daniel Lindgren only allowed three Post 36 hits. Oakes (2-2) found their offense in the sixth with three runs to pull to within a single run, but Enderlin put up another two on Bryce Meehl in the seventh to secure the victory, despite having to pull Lindgren with one out. Spencer Gillund earned the save going two thirds of an inning with a strikeout; stranding the tying run at the plate. 

Lindgren struck out seven and allowed the three runs in the victory, while Meehl took his first loss of the year; surrendering 13 hits and registering seven strikeouts.  Dalton Anderson was three for four at the plate with a double, two singles and a run scored. Oakes had two of their eight hits from Cole Ehrlin.
