(NewsDakota.com)- Jamestown Post 14 baseball teams saw a couple of late leads erased by the potent middle of the order hitters of the Minot Vistas lineup to drop the pair 13-10 and 9-7. The losses drop Jamestown to 1-3 and they will be back in action on Thursday at Grand Forks.
Colton Larson had an 8-8 night including two home runs and 10 RBIs in the two game set. In the opener with the Vistas trailing by a run, he hit a grand slam in the seventh inning to pushed Minot ahead for good. This came after Jamestown had rallied from a 7-0 deficit to take a 10-8 lead into the seventh.
Nick Fuchs homered for Post 14 in the loss. Brian Wenzel started the game on the mound, but had trouble early yield seven Minot runs in the opening two innings. Cody Horn took the loss in relief.
Jamestown will head to Grand Forks on Thursday. Post 14 beat Grand Forks 3-2 last year in a game at Jack Brown Stadium which was the first win over Grand Forks in the tenure of head coach Shane Schoeneberg.
