CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City Police officers responded to a report of a hit and run traffic incident in town Friday, June 6 shortly after 10pm.
A witness reported that the suspect’s white vehicle drove through a posted stop sign, struck a fence and then a light pole. The witness ordered the driver to stop, but the vehicle left the area. An officer found the vehicle with a missing front license plate and front end damage in a parking lot. The owner of the vehicle was located and interviewed by police.
According to the news release 54-year-old Rickey Lee Johnson was charged for Driving Under the Influence, Driving with a Suspended License, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. He was transported to the Barnes County Correctional Center.
