(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High golf team finished their season yesterday in fifth place at the state golf tournament which was held at the Jamestown Country Club. Austin Rene carded a final round 72 (E) which was good enough for 3rd overall and all-state honors. The Jays coach Dean Kraft was named North Dakota Class A Coach of the Year.
There was a three-way tie at the top with Davies, Shanley and West Fargo all shooting 36-hole scores of 620. Shanley won the tiebreaker for their third title. The score of the 5th golfer registers as the tiebreaker.
West Fargo’s Riley Johnson, who is on his way to the University of Minnesota, shot an incredible 69 (-3) to win the individual title over Davies’ Tanner Kretchman.
