N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – There are a lot of outdoor activities in North Dakota with hiking, fishing, camping and biking. But birding in North Dakota is quickly becoming one of the bigger things that North Dakota as a state has to offer.

Dan Buchanan, the past President of the Birding Drives Dakotas, explained that North Dakota is a prime spot for bird watching among the veterans and the leisurely.

Buchanan stated that North Dakota lies at a sort of crossroads for Eastern and Western birds, making the state a home for a wide variety of birds.

The 12th Annual North Dakota Birding Festival will be taking place in Carrington June 11th through the 15th.
