(NewsDakota.com) 47 voters who reside in the Oakes School District headed to the polls Tuesday, and re-elected two members of the School Board.
Both open seats featured the incumbents running unopposed, and each incumbent had an easy victory. Phil Roney won re-election for the Rural seat on the Board with 45 votes. Scott German and Paul Roney were write-in candidates, and received a vote each.
Cherie Muggli also ran unopposed and won back her seat representing the area west of North Dakota State Highway 1 with 44 votes. Steve Hansen was a write-in candidate and picked up three votes.
Canvassing of the election took place during a special school board meeting on Tuesday night.
