(NewsDakota.com)  After some Friday rain showers pushed two games to the next day, the 2014 State Class B Baseball Tourney continued last Saturday with two makeup games and four regularly scheduled games.  The consolation game featuring Midkota against Harvey/Wells County on Friday was delayed for two and a half hours due to rain, but was able to resume play at 6:30pm Friday night.  It took nine innings for Midkota to get the victory over Harvey/Wells County 3-2.  That win put the Mustangs into the consolation championship against Kindred/Richland on Saturday afternoon.

Ben Halvorson of Midkota hit a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put his team up 2-1, but if wasn’t enough as Kindred/Richland would come back and score two runs of their own and get the victory 3-2 in six innings.  Halvorson was 1-for-2 at the plate with two RBI.  Midkota ends at 17-6 overall, the Vikings end at 22-3.
