N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The 6th annual “Shooting for a Cure” is slated for June 7th to honor Fessenden-Bowdon teacher Susan Liebelt by raising money for cancer research.

According to the Fessenden Telegraph, the past five events have seen a total of 97 teams registered and have raised about $18,806. Sue was diagnosed with lung cancer and later passed away when she was just 59 years old. Kayla Houchin and Kayla Hovlan organized the event.

The 3-on-3 tournament will be on June 7th at the Fessenden-Bowdon School and is open to grades 4th though 9th. Lunch will be served and all proceeds, including food sales, will be donated to the Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo. To register or volunteer, contact Kayla at 701-341-8952.
