Tunseth, 89, of Oakes, ND, passed away May 23, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society, Oakes.

She was born on August 20, 1924 at Portland, North Dakota to Louis and Inga (Eken) Aamold. She married Milton Tunseth on March 4, 1944 at Moorhead, Minnesota. Ione has lived in Oakes since 1967, when she and Milton moved to town. Milton passed away on September 21, 2001.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty Tunseth of Oakes, ND; her grandson, Darren (Abbey) Tunseth, Watertown, SD; three great-granddaughters, Rebecca Skjefte and fiance’ Sawyer Jacobson, Oakes, ND, Megan Tunseth and Emily Tunseth, both of Watertown, SD; her sister, Donna Wonser, Grand Forks, ND; and a brother, Roger (Beverly) Aamold, Bemidji, MN. Ione was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Milton.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 starting at 1:30 p.m. at the Oakes View Cemetery, Veteran Section near Oakes. Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Oakes is in charge of the arrangements. An On-line guestbook may be signed at www.dahlstromfuneralhome.com
