N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The chairman of the sponsoring committee for an initiative to change North Dakota’s pharmacy law says his group’s intent is to get the measure on the November ballot.

State law says a pharmacy must be owned by a licensed pharmacist. The measure would repeal it. The Legislature turned down a bill to repeal that law. And a previous attempt to overturn the law did NOT get on the statewide ballot. Eric Johnson of Bismarck chairs the steering committee.

Secretary of State Al Jaeger is now looking at the petition language. Once that’s approved, the committee has to gather 13-thousand-500 signatures to get it on the ballot.
