(NewsDakota.com) The Kindred/Richland baseball team is heading back to the State Class B Tournament next week after winning the Region I title on their home field on Thursday night.
The Vikings, who were the number one seed going into the tournament defeated the Northern Cass Jaguars 3-0. Fletcher Andel earned the victory for Kindred/Richland striking out 10, giving him 24 strikeouts in the two games he pitched during the tournament.
In the game beforehand, Northern Cass shut out Oakes 5-0. Oakes managed just three hits off of Taylor Kyllo, and committed three errors in the first two innings. Casey Springer hit a two run home run in the bottom of the first off of Michael Kelly. The blast to left center field proved to be the winning hit.
The 2014 State Class B Baseball Tournament will be played at Jack Brown Stadium in Jamestown at the end of next week.
