LAKES, IL (NewsDakota.com) – Navy Seaman Jacob B. Fletcher, son of Tim J. Fletcher of Jamestown N.D., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois.

The eight-week program consisted of a variety of training including classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard safety and survival. A capstone event of boot camp is called “Battle Stations”. This is where he learned dedication, sacrifice, teamwork and endurance.

Fletcher is a 2013 graduate of Hemet High School in California.
