N.D. (AP) – The National Weather Service has designated this week as Severe Summer Weather Awareness Week in North Dakota. But conditions are more winter like in the western part of the state.
Up to five inches of snow is expected in the region before the precipitation changes to rain Monday afternoon. Forecasters are urging motorists to use caution. Snow also is in the forecast for various parts of the state on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Parts of eastern North Dakota got an inch or more of rain on Sunday. The weather service has posted flood warnings for the Red River, but only minor flooding is expected throughout the valley.
