(NewsDakota.com) – The North Star/Frontier conference softball tournament will be played in Jamestown at Lawrence Field beginning Friday. It will be a double-elimination tournament but, unlike in baseball, the Frontier sends two teams to the tournament for a total of seven teams. However, only the top-six make the tournament, so Mayville St. has been eliminated.

Jamestown, which is the No. 3-seed, will play their first game against Great Falls at noon on Friday. Dickinson State in the tournament’s top-seed.

Game 1:  No. 1 seed Dickinson State (N.D.)  vs. No. 6 seed Dakota State (S.D.)  – 10 a.m. – Field 11
Game 2:  No. 2 seed Valley City State (N.D.)  vs. No. 5 seed Presentation (S.D.) – 10:15 a.m. – Field 8
Game 3:  No. 3 seed Jamestown (N.D.)  vs. No. 4 seed Great Falls (Mont.)  – 12 p.m. – Field 11
Game 4:  Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2 – 12:15 p.m. – Field 8
Game 5:  Winner Game 1 vs. Loser Game 3 – 2 p.m. – Field 11
Game 6:  Winner Game 2 vs. Winner Game 3 – 4 p.m. – Field 11

Note:  Pairings may need to be adjusted after the outcomes of Game 5 and 6 on Friday, May 2.

Game 7:  Winner Game 5 vs. Winner Game 6 – 11 a.m.
Game 8:  Winner Game 4 vs. Loser Game 6 – 1 p.m.
Game 9:  Winner Game 8 vs. Loser Game 7 – 3 p.m.

Sunday, May 4, 2014 (All games will be on Field 11)
Game 10:  Game 7 winner vs. Game 9 winner – 1 p.m. (Championship Game)
Game 11:  Game 10 winner vs. Game 10 winner – 3 p.m. (If necessary if Game 7 winner suffer first loss in Game 10) Winner advances to 2014 NAIA Softball National Tournament Opening Round on May 12-14
