(NewsDakota.com) KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM in Oakes has been honored by The Associated Press as an award winner in the 2014 AP Great Plains Broadcast Contest.

The AP announced Monday afternoon “The Metko Sports Show” received second place in the Small Radio Talk/Public Affairs. The same submitted segment also received honors from the Northwest Broadcast News Association last month.

The AP Great Plains Broadcast Contest is open to all television and radio stations in North and South Dakota. The contest is divided into Small Radio, Large Radio, Small Television and Large Television divisions. Winners are selected from a group of Associated Press voting members in another state.
