N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – National Infant Immunization Week is April 26th through May 3rd and the North Dakota Department of Health is reminding parents about protecting infants from vaccine-preventable diseases.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of National Infant Immunization Week. Following the recommended immunization schedule not only protects the infant, but also the entire community by preventing and reducing the spread of infectious diseases. According to the Department of Health, Vaccine-preventable diseases still circulate in North Dakota, the U.S. and around the world. More than 100 cases have been reported this year so far.
The Department of Health recommends parents contacting their primary care physician or local public health unit for vaccinations for their children.
