N.D. (NewsDakota.com) 2 people face a number of charges following a strong armed robbery that had occurred Friday in Jamestown about 6pm.

A 37 year-old man and a 17 year-old reportedly pushed a woman to the ground after taking her purse between Perkins Restaurant and First Community Credit Union in Jamestown. Minutes later a unit from the North Dakota Highway Patrol was in pursuit of the suspect vehicle on I-94 at mile marker 277 east bound. The suspect vehicle then crossed I-94 and went back west bound on I-94.

The suspect vehicle exited at mile marker 276 and went north on Barnes County Road 7. The vehicle continued through Eckelson. The suspect’s vehicle was able to distance itself from law enforcement.

Sheriff Randy McClaflin says the search for the vehicle continued and deputies were alerted by a person who was hunting geese in the area. A short time later 2 suspects were taken into custody by 2 Barnes County deputies. The suspect’s vehicle got stuck in a slough and they had fled on foot from the vehicle.

Multiple charges are pending in both Stutsman and Barnes Counties. The vehicle was impounded and taken back to Jamestown. The 37 year-old is being held at the Stutsman County Correctional Center and the 17 year-old is being held at a juvenile facility.

Agencies involved in this case are the Jamestown Police Department, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, North Dakota Highway Patrol and the Barnes County Sheriff’s Office.
