CITY, N.D (NewsDakota.ccom) The Valley City State baseball team announced earlier today that their double header series with Mayville State this weekend will now take place on Friday and Saturday.

The series was originally slated to be played over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday, but due to the threat of poor weather the two teams decided to move the games up a day. These will be the last regular season matches for the Vikings in the North Star Athletic Association. The Vikings will then host the conference tournament which begins on Friday, May 2nd.

Valley City enters Friday’s series with a North Star record of 8-6 and a regular season mark of 17-24. Mayville holds a 34-11 record this year, and they are also 12-4 in the conference. The two teams met four times in the fall with the Comets taking every game in the early season.
