CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The 33rd CROP WALK for HUNGER is set for Sunday, April 27th. Everyone is invited to participate, by walking or by raising money for someone who is walking. The walk raises awareness that hunger is still experienced in our community and around the world.
The walk raises money for hunger relief and wells for rural villages and food for the Barnes County Food Pantry. 20% of the funds raised during the April 27 event will be given to the Barnes County Food Pantry. Each month the Food Pantry gives out 30-50 boxes of food to local families or individuals in need.
Walkers will assemble at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church parking lot just before 1 pm and walk 6 miles, the customary walk of young girls collecting their family’s water for the day.
Anyone wishing to make a financial donation can be bring it to Our Savior’s, Epworth, Faith or Trinity Churches anytime in the next few weeks. Call 845-5197 for more information.
