CITY, N.D (NewsDakota.co ) In their largest Margin of victory in the last eight season the Hi-Liners girls tennis team defeated Fargo South 8-1 for their first Eastern Dakota Conference win of the year.

Clarissa Olson had a strong showingr Valley City in the number one singles match by defeating Anna Lawley, who finished in fifth place in the state meet last season. Other wins came from the number two and three singles Sam Coit and Sara Gilbertson who earned wins in three sets. The Hi-Liners went onto sweep the singles matches with two set wins from Maia Wendel, Reagan Ingstad, and Abby Ingstad.

The Hi-Liners only defeat came in number one double, where Olson and Reagan Ingstad feel to the team of Lawley and Isabel Thiner of Fargo south in a tie break.

The Varsity team returns to the court on Thursday when they host Wahpeton at 4pm.
