N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Wednesday house fire that displaced a family has been determined to have been caused by unattended cooking.

5 units with 33 firefighters were called to 915 5th Avenue SE on Wednesday to a house fire that had been apparently started in the kitchen. Crews were able to extinguish the fire, but not until after it had caused extensive fire damage.

Photos from the scene and information collected interviews were used to determine the cause. The fire investigation has been concluded unless further evidence is obtained by the department. No one was injured in the fire.
