N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A combination of donations, loans and grant money has brought in a new ambulance for the community of Bowdon.

With the Bowdon Ambulance service being a volunteer group, the squad looked to the North Dakota Rural EMS Assistance Grant program for $50,000 in the purchase of a new ambulance. To cover the rest of the cost, a loan was taken out for $20,000 and the remaining $118,000 were paid through ambulance runs, donations and memorials made to the Bowdon Ambulance Squad.

According to the Fessenden Telegraph, Wells County Commissioner Randi Suckut stated that the new ambulance would be a great tool for the volunteer service. “We have an unbelievable squad that really comes together and provides a great resource for the community. Special thanks goes to Cheryl Flick who applied for the grant and Doug and Phillip Hoff who did the research for the new ambulance. Also to the public who has been so supportive of Bowdon Ambulance. We just want to give a big thank you to all the people in our area for that support.”
