MN (NewsDakota.com)- The University of Jamestown continued its dominance over Valley City State with a pair of win Tuesday afternoon in Moorhead at Concordia College. The Jimmies won the opener 14-6 and got a gem from Jason Shaw to win the second 3-0.
In the first game, the Jimmie offense was powered by a pair of three-run homers. The first was delivered by Marcus Blackmon to put Jamestown in front 5-1 early after VCSU scored the first run of the game on a sac fly.
Paul Sitkowski followed suit later in the game with a three-run bomb of his own to put the game out of reach. Ryan Sheeley relieved Tanner Dahl and was nearly unhittable over the final two innings.
In the second game of the twin-bill the Jimmies gave Shaw three runs and that was more than enough. Shaw dealt out seven strikeouts, while allowing just five hits and zero runs.
Jamestown improved to 17-5 on the season with a 5-1 record in the NSAA. The losses dropped the Vikings to 12-21. Both teams are in action on Wednesday with Jamestown headed to Dakota Wesleyan and VCSU going back to Moorhead to play Dakota State.
