N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued an updated map of fire danger levels throughout the state.

According to the warning, a good portion of Northwest North Dakota is in the very high profile of the warning scale. A very high profile indicates that there is potential for rapid spreading and erratic behavior for fires that ignite with dangerous burning conditions. The rest of the state varies between high to low for the rate of fire potential.

Stutsman and Barnes counties currently remain in a low level of fire danger with a low rate of spread for any fire that may ignite. Further South, LaMoure, Logan and McIntosh counties remain in a moderate to high potential fire warning. Dickey, Sargent and Ransom Counties are all at a very high fire danger potential level.
