N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Volunteers and community members came together on April 5th at the Buffalo Mall for the Kids Against Hunger Packaging Event held in Jamestown.
In the weeks before, the club was looking for roughly 400 volunteers and had set a fundraising goal of $50,000. According to Katie Ryan-Andersen, a member with the Jamestown Kiwanis Club, the event was very successful.
“We packaged 200,000 meals and had more than 400 volunteers! It was an exciting day.” she stated.
A portion of the meals will stay local and be distributed by the Great Plains Food bank. The rest of the meals will be sent internationally to other countries.
