(NewsDakota.com) KDDR Radio in Oakes has been honored with an Eric Sevaried Award; being recognized for excellence in broadcast journalism by the Northwest Broadcast News Association.

The station’s “Metko Sports Show” received an Award Of Merit in the Sportscast/Program Small Market Radio category.  

The Sevaried Awards are named for the late CBS News journalist and Velva North Dakota native, and entries are submitted from radio and television stations in North and South Dakota, as well as Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The awards were presented this past weekend in Minneapolis as part of the Midwest Journalism Conference.
