Norman Jewett, age 76, of Valley City, ND, died peacefully at home on Saturday, March 22nd with Hospice Care and his family at his side. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 28th at the Lerud Schuldt Funeral Home in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and one hour before the service on Friday afternoon. Inurnment will be in Hillside Cemetery in the spring.
Norm was born November 27, 1937 to John and Winifred Jewett in Valley City, ND. He went to school in rural Barnes County and College High in Valley City. On October 14, 1959 he married Joann Behm. They lived in rural Barnes County and later moved to Valley City. He served 7 years in the National Guard. He worked for Dakota Radio and TV and for Roy Lund putting up antennas in the early 50’s. Norm started High-line Antenna in 1957. In the 1980s, he started putting up satellite dishes. He was an apprentice for many electricians in Valley City, most recently Kohn Electric. Norm enjoyed racing and riding Rupp snowmobiles with his friends. He had many hobbies including his train sets, he enjoyed going to garage sales, and also enjoyed going out for coffee with his special friends.
He is survived by his wife Joan and five daughters; Charlene Lam, Pam Kamstra (Dwyle), Jacki Colville (Gene), Mary St. Denis (Pat), all of Valley City, ND, and Cathy Overby (Clarence) of Watertown, SD, sixteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, his sisters Beverly Gerkie (Harry) of Oriska, ND, Shirley Bailey (Bruce) of Lynnwood, Washington, his aunt Mabel Eggert of Valley City, ND and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Winifred Jewett and his special aunts and uncles.
