CITY (NewsDakota.com) After one year with the Vikings, Women’s baskeball coach Cathy Hanek has resigned from the position.

Under Hanek the Vikings went 13-12 on the year with a 3-5 record in the North Star Athletic Association.

Valley City State Athletic Director Jack Denholm said a search for Hanek’s replacement will begin immediately.

Hanek took reigns of the Vikings last summer following the resignation of longtime head coach Jill DeVries.
