N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A local farmer has made a donation to the Jamestown Rural Fire Department to help purchase a new pair of structural firefighting gloves for each fire department team member.

Michael Carlson donated $2,500 to the Jamestown Rural Fire Department with help from America’s Farmers Grow Communities. Due to the high amount of structure fires this past winter, the previous protective gloves were in need of replacement.

America’s Farmers Grow Communities offers farmers a chance to win $2,500, which is then donated to a farmer’s nonprofit of choice. Since its launch, the group has donated over $16 million dollars to more than 6,500 nonprofit organizations.
