N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Some students travel to the beaches of Mexico and others travel back home for Spring Break. But, some University of Minnesota students will be spending their Spring Break in the city of Jamestown.

Frank Conlin with the Jamestown YMCA, stated that Whitney Forseth with the University of Minnesota has asked the YMCA if they would be willing to house the students.

“I talked with the board and they approved of it. They’ll be bringing their own sleeping bags and will be sleeping in the Larsen Center. We’ll also allow them to use our showers and bathroom facilities.” Frank said.

On March 15th, roughly 40 to 45 students will then help the Salvation Army of Jamestown with a service project in the city. The group will be working at the Salvation Army store and help organize the back warehouse. According to Lt. Mitch Brecto with the Salvation Army, the groups will spend between 4 to 6 hours sorting clothes and containers of donated goods to put on the shelves.
