N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Grape & Wine Association held their annual convention January 31st to February 1st in Bismarck. This is the second year the competition was held for both amateurs and professionals.
Rodney Opdahl and Dakota Sun Gardens took home some of the awards in the competition. Rodney Opdahl of Fessenden won the category “Amateur Non-Grape”, beating out twenty-four other entries. According to the Fessenden Telegraph, Opdahl uses fruits from his farm and uses over fifteen different vintages that he shares with his family and friends.
The Dakota Sun Gardens Winery in Carrington also received honors at the competition, taking place in two different categories; “Commercial Other Grape” and “Commercial Non-Grape”. To win these, they had to beat out fourteen other entries.
