CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City bar owners now have the option of staying open until 2am after the city commission passed an update liquor ordinance on March 4. Valley City Commissioner Mary Lee Nielson approved the motion to pass the ordinance. She says the ordinance follows state law.

City Attorney Russ Myhre and his staff worked for several months re-codifying the liquor ordinance and making several updates after meeting with area bar owners. A few bar owners say they will exercise the option on Friday and Saturday nights and also during special events.
