CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) 22 people competed in the first annual North Dakota Winter Show Karokee contest and Parish Mechling of Redfield, South Dakota won the contest to capture the ,000 cash prize from the North Dakota Winter Show.

Lissa Meyer of Fargo got the second prize of $500 and Hannah Hager of Valley City took third place for the $250 cash prize.

NDWS board member Tim Ost says the 3 will be asked to come back to sing in the opening moments of the 2015 North Dakota Winter Show concert next year.
