N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Gary Van Zinderen, Dean of Students at the University of Jamestown, has requested and has been granted leave from the University of Jamestown for personal time.

The University of Jamestown does not comment on matters of a personal nature. They will be reviewing the status of the allegations during Van Zinderen’s leave period. According to the report, Van Zinderen was arrested after he went to pick up his children from his wife’s house. His wife reportedly told him not to step into the house. He grabbed a suitcase packed for his children and in the process of pulling it out the door, it allegedly struck his wife in the right thigh.

Van Zinderen was arrested in Jamestown on February 21st when police were called. He stated that it was possible the suitcase hit his wife when he grabbed it. He was charged with Simple Assault and released from custody on February 24th.
