Robert Carl Stephan, age 62, of Fingal passed away on February 25, 2014 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Rosemary (Sebby) Stephan, and brother Jeffrey.  Bob is survived by loving wife of 35 years, Geri; brother, Fredrick (Anndrea); sisters,  Jeanne (Bob) Stelzer, Roby (Randy) Eisenbeisz and Ruthanne Stephan.

Bob was born August 11, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan.  He moved with his family to Fingal in 1966 and was a graduate of Fingal High School in 1969.  While working as a mechanical technician in Fargo, he met and married Geri Schneider in 1978. After living and working in Fargo, Bismarck and Jamestown, they moved to the family home in Fingal.  He had a long career working as an independent contractor with various computer and technology firms including traveling the state performing installations and upgrades at State Farm Insurance locations.

Bob had a great interest and knack with computers and all things electronic. He was well known for his ability to diagnose and repair older computer systems. He took great pride in coaxing them to work just a bit longer – even if it took duct tape and chewing gum.

As a gifted singer, Bob was a member of the FM Ambassadors Barbershop Chorus for several years, and The Nutty Buddies, a comedy barbershop quartet. As a soloist, he soothed the hearts of many families singing The Lord’s Prayer at funerals.

A service of remembrance will be held at 11 am, Saturday, March 8 at Messiah Lutheran Church, Fingal. Visitation will be one hour prior to the start of the service.

Funeral arrangements for Bob have been entrusted to Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City, ND.  An online guestbook is available at olivernathanchapel.com.
