(NewsDakota.com)  Last night was the last regular season games of the year for both the Saints and Blue Jays boys and girls basketball teams.  The boys played the first game, St. Mary’s beat Jamestown 80-58.  In the second game, the Blue Jay girls beat the Saints 65-36. 

WDA BOYS:  NO. 3 ST. MARY’S 80  JAMESTOWN 58

Bismarck St. Mary’s jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, they led at halftime 53-30.  Senior Guard Ben Weisbeck led all scorers with 27 points for the Saints, followed by Senior Darius Sparks with 20 including four 3-pointers.  Jamestown was led by Sophomore post player Logan Anderson with 17 points including a second half alley-oop dunk, Nic Fuchs added 12 points.  Jamestown drops to 4-12 and 5-14 overall.  St. Mary’s improves to 13-3 and 16-3 overall.

WDA GIRLS:  JAMESTOWN 65  ST. MARY’S 36

Seniors Paige Peterson and McKayla Orr combine for 36 points as the Blue Jays roll past the Saints.  Erin Mullowney of the Jays scored 12 points as well, all 3-pointers.  Katelyn Schaffner led the Saints with 16 points.  Jamestown improves to 9-7 and 10-9 overall, St. Mary’s drops to 4-12 and 4-15 overall.
