(NewsDakota.com) An Oakes High School graduate who played in the 1986 Masters Tournament will be among the latest class inducted into the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame.
Michael Podolak attended Oakes High School, Odessa Junior College and Southern Methodist University in Texas. He was a member of three ND State Team Golf Championships and the 1985 US Walker Cup Team. He earned 2 Pine to Palm and 2 KX Amateur Titles. Podolak was a US Mid-Amateur Champion and played in the 1986 Masters Tournament, runner-up (‘94) and Amateur Champion (’99) in the Trans Mississippi Amateur Tournament.
Podolak joins Glenn Hansen and Jim Leclair as inductees this year. The three men will be enshrined in a ceremony at the Jamestown Civic Center on Saturday June 21 at 5 p.m. Tickets are $30 to attend. Call 252-4835.
