CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Members of the Valley City School District and the Valley City Education Association met to see if their differences could be settled. No agreement was reached on February 5.
So the Valley City School Board formally approved a motion to issue unilateral contracts to Valley City teachers for the 2013-2014 school year during a special school board meeting on February 6.
The new contract would include a $100 increase in the base salary from $33,500 to $33,600 as well as the advance on salary schedule for time served and educational credits teachers earn, called step increases.
Valley City teachers will have until March 13 to accept or reject the contract offer.
