N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – At 7:30 AM on December 23rd, power was lost in 4 counties serviced by KEM Electric Cooperative.

According to General Manager Chris Baumgartner, power has been restored fully as of 7:40 PM on December 23rd. Residents under KEM Electric in Emmons, McIntosh, Logan and Kidder counties were without heat and power for 12 hours.

“We were able to restore power to 6 of our 9 substations, but 3 substations near Wishek, which serve roughly 600 residents are still out.” Chris stated at around 6:00 PM last night. “Now all of KEM’s substations have been energized.”

Montana-Dakota Utilities worked with KEM Electric crews for 12 hours yesterday in the freezing, winter temperatures.
